I feel like I'm a failure. Or cursed. Or something. My goal this wintersession was clear: Finish two quilts, piece a third. Well, it seems that everything that can go wrong has.... the baby quilt is a PITA to iron... to the tune where, if I get 6 blocks ironed a day, it's good. (There are 99 blocks in the quilt, and really, it's more like 6 blocks done in a week.) My sewing machine, which broke when I tried making a wallet on it a while ago, is now fixed as of an hour ago, thanks to phone techie work. (Huzzah!) However, when I started pinning the sashing to the pieced strips I'd made on the first quilt, I discovered that I'd cut Every. Sashing. a foot short. I haven't even started on the third quilt, and the blocks on the second keep falling apart as fast as I iron them.
Tip of the day: Never use flannelette (I think that's what I'm using) on a quilt that requires a lot of origami-type shaping. It just won't work.
